Change in Podcasting

Because of limited space on the original podcasting host we needed to make a change. As this project began we did not know exactly how popular it might become. Since we started in October we have had just over 170 downloads. We ran out of space with the original host site and needed to make a decision. The new site I believe is a better fit for our needs it will allow us to continue to add new sermons and will archive older podcast. We apologize for any inconvenience or confusion this has caused. If you are in contact with anyone that has subscribed to the podcast please pass the word. The original “Walking Into the Latter Day Light” will remain on i Tunes but an addition to i Tunes will be “Latter Day Light”. Again we apologize for any inconvenience.

TOP TEN TIPS FOR BECOMING SPIRITUALLY FIT FOR THE KINGDOM

1. Begin the each day by spending the first five minutes in praise and prayer to your Heavenly Father.

“Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands. Serve the Lord with gladness; come before his presence with singing. Know ye that the Lord he is God; it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture. Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise; be thankful unto him, and bless his name. For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations.” [Psalms 100]

2. Spend fifteen minutes each day remembering and writing in a journal how God's hand has been in your life and pray that God will give you a humble spirit.

“And in nothing doth man offend God, or against none is his wrath kindled, save those who confess not his hand in all things, and obey not his commandments.” [DC 59:5b]

3. Spend one hour each day feasting upon the words of Christ (that portion of the BM & HS that contain the words of Christ) and pray asking that God will teach you how to implement into action that upon which you have feasted.

“Wherefore, I said unto you, feast upon the words of Christ; for behold the words of Christ will tell you all things what ye should do.” [II Ne 14:4]

4. Fast for three meals each week spending at least thirty minutes each time focusing upon Christ.

“Also, I give unto you a commandment that ye shall continue in prayer and fasting from this time forth.” [DC 85:21a]

5. Pray each day with all the energy of heart that God will bless you with charity even the pure love of Christ.

“Wherefore, my beloved brethren, pray unto the Father with all the energy of heart, that ye may be filled with this love which he hath bestowed upon all who are true followers of his Son Jesus Christ, that ye may become the sons of God, that when he shall appear, we shall be like him; for we shall see him as he is, that we may have this hope, that we may be purified even as he is pure. Amen.” [Moroni 7:53]

6. Make a list each week of five persons for whom you will specifically pray and call them during that week to tell them that you love them and that you are praying for them.

“Be thou humble, and the Lord thy God shall lead thee by the hand, and give thee answer to thy prayers. I know thy heart, and have heard thy prayers concerning thy brethren.” [DC 105:5a]

7. Make a list of all the persons with whom you have ought and begin to pray for them eventually approaching them to implement reconciliation.

[Mat 5:46] But I say unto you, love your enemies; bless them that curse you; do good to them that hate you; and pray for them which despitefully use you and persecute you; That ye may be the children of your Father who is in heaven; for he maketh his sun to rise on the evil and on the good, and sendeth rain on the just and on the unjust. For if ye love only them which love you, what reward have you? Do not even the publicans the same? And if ye salute your brethren only, what do ye more than others? Do not even the publicans the same? Ye are therefore commanded to be perfect, even as your Father who is in heaven is perfect.” [Matthew 5:46-50]

8. Make a list of persons that you do not particularly like and pray for them asking God to reveal to you the good and positive potential He sees them.

“A new commandment I give unto you. That ye love one another; as I have loved you, that ye also love one another.” [John 13:34]

9. Do not say anything negative about anyone else and do not listen to gossip or negative statements about others.

“See that ye love one another; cease to be covetous; learn to impart one to another as the gospel requires; cease to be idle; cease to be unclean; cease to find fault one with another. [DC 85:38a]

10. Spend the last five minutes of each day in praise and prayer to your Heavenly Father.
